Jase A. Brown

Jase represents businesses and individuals in all types of disputes in state courts, federal courts and arbitrations across the country. Jase has extensive experience handling complex construction law, surety law and general commercial law matters. Before founding Brown Trial Law, he practiced in both large and boutique firm settings, where he handled complex disputes from start to finish, including trials, arbitrations and appeals.

Earlier in his career, Jase served as a law clerk to the Honorable Nelson C. Johnson of the New Jersey Superior Court, Civil Division. He also externed for the Honorable Lois H. Goodman, U.S.M.J., in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Jase graduated magna cum laude from Rutgers Law School and served as the Associate Managing Editor of the Rutgers Law Review. He earned his B.B.A. from West Texas A&M University. Jase is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in New Jersey and New York.

Jase has been named to the New Jersey Super Lawyers Rising Stars list for the past four years (2023-2026), which is a distinction reserved for the top 2.5% of lawyers in the state under 40 or with fewer than 10 years of practice. Jase was also included in the Sixth Edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch, which recognizes lawyers who are earlier in their careers for outstanding professional excellence in private practice.

In his free time, Jase enjoys fine-tuning his golf game and playing bucket list courses across the country.

  • Representative Matters

    • Lead appellate counsel for a regional automobile dealership in a consumer class action. Obtained reversal of the trial court's denial of a motion to enforce a contractual class action waiver, terminating potential multi-million dollar class exposure and compelling individual resolution.
    • Lead counsel for a subcontractor on a Manhattan high-rise development project asserting wrongful termination and damages claims against the general contractor. Obtained a seven-figure settlement.
    • Represented five surety companies with hundreds of millions of dollars in bond exposure in connection with the bankruptcies and associated litigation of two of the largest offshore oil and gas operators in the Gulf of Mexico. Managed complex multi-party negotiations and settlements across both matters.
    • Represented the owner of a nine-figure mixed-use development project in Florida in claims against the developer and general contractor for fraud, theft of project funds, conspiracy, breach of fiduciary duty, and related causes of action.
    • Lead trial counsel for a law firm partner sued by a general contractor over a $1.1 million home renovation. Defeated all of the contractor's claims at trial and obtained a $332,000 judgment on the client's counterclaim.
    • Represented a surety on a nine-figure development project in California that spawned multiple lawsuits in state and federal court, including a matter currently pending before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
    • Lead trial counsel for the owner of one of the largest malls in the country in a lawsuit brought by a general contractor seeking seven figures in alleged construction damages.
